Call the Center’s main #, let person know that the patient would like to receive PrEP. They will schedule the person with a medical provider that administers PrEP in this health center.

Services Offered:

PrEP & PEP prescriber, Primary Care services including HRT, Laboratory testing, Hepatitis C treatment, counseling/support with financial assistance programs.

Documentation Required:

Bring proof of insurance, if insured. If a person is uninsured, they will need to bring proof of income such as a paycheck stub, VA Check, SS statement or proof of public assistance, proof of address & photo ID. Low cost prescriptions.

Number of PrEP Providers:

Providers are available to administer PrEP each day.

Estimated Appointment Length:

20 minutes

Wait Time for Appointment:

1-2 weeks, sometimes same day.

Cost for Initial Visit and Follow-Up:

Copay for services are based on insurance primary care copays. If uninsured, there is a sliding fee scale based on income & family size.

Financial Support for Patients:

Piedmont Health pharmacists work with patients to obtain medication through their insurance provider and/or Gilead patient assistance program. Cost may vary based on family size and income.

Follow-up:

Office visits are every 1-3 months depending on patient risk. Kidney function, HIV status, and STI status are checked every 3-6 months, again, depending on risk and following accepted guidelines.

Transportation Support and Accessibility for Patients:

Burlington Local Bus line. Free parking

Translation Available:

Spanish & bilingual staff. Language line for other non-English speaking patients.
